The state delegation were in the first five rows at the edge of the stage so they had a prime location to see and hear the speakers as the convention kicked off its four-day stay in Denver.

I am honored to have the opportunity to share with you the seven steps I took to have a new life after the darkness I experienced back in fall of 2005. I was in a car accident which left me with a broken body and a broken soul.

Life as I knew it was over. I had to be open to learn a new way of living, or I was going to die.

Over the next seven segments of this column, I am going to share with you how I overcame my bondage in hopes it will reach someone out there who may need help with their own life. Here are the steps I endured to create a new way of living.

Over the summer George Washington High School moved up to Class 5A.

In the Week 0 opener Littleton High School looked like the team that belonged at Colorado's highest classification.

The Lions, a Class 4A team, flexed their rushing might, pounding the ground for 425 yards and shutting out the Patriots 47-0 at Littleton Public Schools Stadium Aug. 22.

Parker boy brings home Junior Olympic bronze

After winning the west region, Porter took a bronze medal home from the Junior Olympics national competition.

Monroe Porter, 10, of Parker was one of only three boys in his division from a nation of hopefuls to compete in the Junior Olympics Skill National Finals July 24-27 in Chicago as a tennis athlete. After winning the west region, Porter took a bronze medal home from the Junior Olympics national competition.
Now that Monroe Porter has seen national Junior Olympics action, he is determined to return next year.

Porter, 10, of Parker, was one of three tennis athletes in his age division to qualify for the Junior Olympic Skills National Finals July 24-27 in Chicago.
